Historia:
Moros y Cristianos is a easy, but quite good dish in Cuba. Moros y Cristianos means Moors and Christians. Moors is the black beans and Christians is the rice. The name of the dish was likely made by the early Cuban settlers referring to the Islamic Conquest of Spain in the early 8th century.  It also refers to the subsequent Reconquista in the 15th century. They had a great effect on the Spanish culture and language. It is now a popular dish in Cuba and Miami. I know when you see Miami, you may get confused, but a lot of Spanish settlers settled in Miami, so the dish was brought there along with the settlers. The dish was popular way back, and it will most likely continue to be recognized as a traditional dish.
